Do you ever make a graphic and you get at the point where you have to choose a font and think “if only there were some way to get an overview of all the fonts I have already installed”? Well you can. At wordmark.it you just type in any word you want, it then shows that word in every font you have installed on your computer.

CAUSE I SERIOUSLY NEEDED SOMETHING LIKE THIS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU GUYS.

Don’t forget that drinking plenty of water and tea, eating a healthy diet and daily exercise will make a HUGE difference with your complexion.  Touching your face frequently is also a big no-no.  Everyone’s skin is different, so experiment with your own treatment routines and find what best suits you!!  I think this is a topic that’s almost taboo to talk about, but everyone has it, so we might as well help each other out with what we’ve found successful, right!?

for-transmen

If you’ve been looking to bind, whether you’re transgender, non-binary, or a cosplayer, you’ve probably come across binders like these on Ebay, Amazon, or AliExpress. Usually they’re called E.V.A, SHO, Whatwears, or Ancient Fish King brands, all of which are apparently, interchangeable with each other. Ross is here to tell you that these chest binders are not much of a step up from ace bandages, which in case you hadn’t known already, are the worst thing you can do to bind your chest. So here’s the run down, from least bad to worst.

Why is a chest binder for a lesbian?

First off, the sellers are usually misinformed about why someone would use a chest binder is needed just from how they title them. Why would Lesbians want a chest binder (outside of cosplay?)? I don’t know, but most of these listings have lesbian in the name, suggesting that chest binders are for girls, not men or nonbinary. This right there should be a warning sign of a company that doesn’t know what they are doing.

It's too tight!

The strapless binders’ model is wearing the wrong size for their chest. Their breast is popping out over the top of the binder, and I can personally say that with that binder, it is very, very, painful if you have a larger chest. After about 20 minutes, bruising and chaffing will occur, especially to those with larger chests or are heavier. In the worst case scenario, the breast will rip or pop as if it were cut with a knife.

These materials are not good

Look at the materials used. These chest binders do not have any or enough stretchy material in them. Elastic or spandex is the best. On the ones that do have spandex, they don’t mention how much there is in the binder. This is an enormous, bright, flashing sign that the binder is NOT safe. Just how bad is it? Ace bandages likely have more elastic than these binders do, and the ace bandages can still kill you if they don’t maim you. A binder is supposed to stretch, be easily manipulated, and you must be able to take a full breath in them. I’ve bought and used two different types binders from Ebay not knowing any better, and I could barely take a breath at all. I did get larger and larger sizes, and with the same result. Putting it simply, their binders could be falling off of you because they are too big and still would not be safe.

Now I can’t show you in a picture about the next part, but what’s probably the worst about these binders is that their ‘binding’ material goes all the way around the binder. Your binder should NOT have this unless it is made to correct back posture. Sports bras can, but that is better for again, correcting back posture. So not only will you be binding your chest, but you’ll be binding your ribs, back, and shoulders as well. This can warp them and damage the tissue.

So what does a good binder look like? I’m going to use the binder I’ve had the best experience with as an example. The Ultimate Chest Binder Tank by underworks. I’ve bought two of these as I’ve needed them, I wore out my old one after a year and a half of use daily including at work.

So, straight off from the site, we know this seller is knowledgeable about their target audience. Chest binders are under the men’s section and you never see the word lesbian on any of them. The only thing marked for women under the chest binder section is a sports bra, put there because transgender men often use them for working out.

YES! Good binder!

The information section on the binder isn’t just two or three lines, it’s a whole paragraph. What is this binder made of? Medical grade 70% nylon and 30% spandex knit. It says it right there and is readily available information, you don’t have to dig through the seller’s ads for cheap wholesale jewelry in the description to find it. The listing also tells us how much of each material is used, information you must have when buying a chest binder. My personal rule of thumb? If it’s under 20% spandex or elastic, it’s trash. Our listing also tells us how to put the binder on, rather than making you struggle to figure it out on your own. Size chart and customer reviews are readily available on the listing and not buried under ads for other unrelated merchandise.

Also from looking at the binder’s pictures, the front and back of the binder is made differently; the front is thicker and non transparent while the back can bee seen through a bit and is thin in comparison. This is because the front of the binder is made to compress and bind the chest and the back of the binder is not. All the binding is in the front, support in the back.

Please, know the difference between an unsafe binder and a safe one. Save your money and avoid ones found on ebay. Can’t afford a binder still? There are programs for people who cannot buy one on their own or it is unsafe for them to buy one. One such I know of is the In a Bind program, they have fantastic service if a bit slow delivery time. Remember, this program is only for transgender men and nonbinary, cosplayers will have to go elsewhere or outright buy a binder.

IF YOU ARE STREAMING, DON’T USE PROCASTER.

DON’T. USE. PROCASTER.

Livestream procaster consumes large amounts of cpu for nothing. No joke, nothing. As a result your stream can become laggy and sometimes it can damage your hardware as your PC has to push itself to keep what your streaming functioning as well as possible.

"But if we can’t use procaster what can we use insteaaaaad?"

Simple. There’s two programs, both that are free, that you can use that uses very little CPU and has more options than procaster. These programs are called Xsplit and OBS. To keep your head in one piece, I’m going to go over how to stream on Livestream with Xsplit.

Under the cut of course.

Making Doujinshi: A Masterpost
ennui160

I decided to put together a masterpost of resources I know and have (mostly) used when making doujinshi, comics, etc. I hope this helps someone!

Resources

blambot - their free fonts are great for comics, and their license allows you to use them for self published works even if you’re making a profit

fontsquirrel - all fonts are advertised as being free for commercial use, but I’ve found quite a few that actually are not. has a lot of fonts, but please read the license first. if no license is included or if it’s not explicitly free for commercial use, don’t use it in printed works

digital tone studio [JPN] - tons and tons and tons of tones, for photoshop, clip studio, etc. free tones are for web use. if you use their tones on the web, a link is appreciated. accepts paypal.

eikou’s templates [JPN] - templates for comics are here if you don’t want to set up the guides yourself. however, if you’re printing, it’s probably best to use the templates/bleed specifications your printer provides

Supplies (online)

jetpens - they actually carry a lot of useful traditional manga drawing materials, like dip pens, manuscript paper, etc. also free US shipping over 25 dollars! the doujinshi size manuscript paper is A4 size (it trims down to B5)

deleter mangashop - sells manuscript paper, pens, screentone, etc. shipping is pretty expensive, however.

Supplies (offline)

DaVinci Artist Supply - this particular davinci tends to carry screentones and doujinshi size manuscript paper, probably because they are so close to SVA
137 East 23rd Street New York NY 10010 Ph: 212 982-8607

Programs

clip studio paint - sai and mangastudio in one package. relatively cheap, also. carries a lot of screentones within the program and allows you to put down trim lines, text, etc. the cheaper version doesn’t allow you to organize your pages together in one big story, but shouldn’t really matter unless you want to mass export your files. UI is very similar to SAI when in illustration mode. I noticed that there was little to no learning curve when I first picked it up from using photoshop, SAI, and manga studio. overall a great drawing program and is great for drawing comics as well!

manga studio - a little hard to use but very versatile for comic drawing. I personally like drawing in clip studio more, but manga studio is still very good at what it does. it’s pretty hard to create illustrations with this software, but it’s more dedicated to comics (personally I use it to draw comics even though I have clip studio)

photoshop - if you really want to torture yourself. Not originally a drawing program, but has so so so many features. you can create your own guides which is a plus if you don’t want to use templates (clip studio doesn’t really allow for this, manga studio does but it’s a little confusing)

Tutorials/Info

how to make doujinshi [JPN] - very useful site! google translate is ok here… mostly. even if you don’t speak japanese, you should be able to grasp the basic idea.

Understanding Comics by Scott Mccloud - this book was given to me as basically the bible of comics. you can judge it for yourself, but I think it was a very good read, even if you don’t plan on drawing comics. It’s less about the technicalities of drawing comics and more about understanding comic based storytelling. It is also a comic book itself, interestingly.

wally wood’s 22 panels that always work - I’m always looking at this when I draw comics!!!! it’s great when I wrote a long bit of dialogue and realized I don’t know where to put anyone because I’m a dang idiot!!!!!!!

hajimete no doujinshi [JPN] - google translate sort of fails here, so this is better if you have at least a little knowledge of japanese/japanese doujin terms (for example the japanese term for trim lines translates to “dragonfly”)

Printers

doujinpress - print quality was not great a year ago, but they are currently in the process of increasing their print quality. Staff are very helpful and kind. long loooong turnaround (6 weeks). they offer perfect bound. reasonably priced. not a lot of cover stock options, but I hear that will possibly change soon… also prints R18 material (!!)

smartpress - lots of cover options, paper options, etc! billies printed with them and quality looked good (I haven’t printed with them personally). reasonably priced and offers custom sizing. default turnaround time is 3 days (!!)

this is an incomplete list. Please add more if you think it belongs on here. Thanks!

A lot of people have messaged me about the 30 Day Challenge list. I hadn’t realized the link on my old post was down, so I’m reposting it now, as well as letting you all know for the next 8 weeks I’ll be posting every Monday with animated illustrations. Hopefully I can brighten up your otherwise dry work week Monday!

UPDATE: Sorry I fixed the list. There was bunch of dummy text in there. It’s all good now

So you’re interested in the MOTHER/Earthbound series
revengeance

But you’re just too lazy to find the games by yourself, right? Worry not.

                        image

I see a lot of people around here saying they’re interested in the series but they can’t find the roms and stuff. That’s why I made a .rar with all of the three games (EarthBound Zero, EarthBound and the english-translated MOTHER 3 rom) with the respective emulators and some other useful stuff like the EarthBound Zero’s easy patch (if you patch the game with this, the exp you gain after battles will be like in EB and the game will get easier, making it friendlier for any kind of gamer) for those who want to experience the original NES version of the game instead of the GBA one (which is  also included in the .rar)

You can download the whole thing here.

As a tip, I would recommend you to play the games in the right order (EarthBound Zero, EarthBound and then MOTHER 3), since well, they work as one big story, so EB and M3 are obviously sequels.

I recommend you to read this before starting the first game as well, it includes a lot of tips that will hopefully help you enjoy the game much more.

Also, please keep in mind that Nintendo recently released EarthBound for the Wii U’s virtual console. So if you own the console you might want to support the games and actually buy it instead of emulating it, but that’s up to you.

P.S.: If you’re already a fan of the series, please reblog this so more people can see it and get into these games.

Yuri manga by women about women (who aren’t in high school)
littlegaywitch

Sadly a lot of them are one shots, but there’s a few longer ones. A lot of yuri manga is tragically too short and I’m always left wanting more. D:

After some struggles with myself, I ended up putting stories about college aged women so long as it’s not “innocent school life” heavy.

Yamaji Ebine

  • Love my Life (this one has a movie. A uni student coming out to her father and finding that her parents were both queer as well.)
  • Indigo Blue (A novelist caught between feelings for her boyfriend but also her feelings for another woman.)
  • Free Soul (22 year old aspiring manga artist writing a manga about a black jazz singer. Artist falls for a trumpeter of a jazz band.)
  • Sweet Lovin Baby (A young woman befriends a lesbian couple and falls for them. With three other short stories.)

Morishima Akiko

  • Conditions for Paradise- An OL in love with a world hopping freelance journalist
  • We’re Aiming for Love Now (Journalist and a cutie in a cosplay store)
  • Happy Picture Diary - (REALLY FUNNY. An social worker and an editor’s daily life together. All chibi but with some really real lesbian life jokes)
  • Off-Time (an aging lesbian short one shot)
  • 20-Year-Old Girl x 30-Year-Old Maiden- (one shot, a 30 year old sensitive about her age with a 20 year old woman in her art class)
  • Princess of the Stars- (short- almost didn’t make it b/c high school flashbacks but it’s college roomies and it’s short and sweet- and challenges that “girls experiment with girls in high school then grow out of it” thing that people in Japan sometimes think)

Other Artists:

  • Ohana Holoholo: Torino Shino (Saya lives with her bisexual former girlfriend and her son. Nico, an actor living up stairs and a close friend, drops by for a visit almost everyday.  Somewhat like family, and somewhat not, a story about their lives)
  • My Unique Day-Sakamoto Mano (women in an acting troupe together. one shot)
  • Abracadabra- Tanaka Minoru (a magician and a cute girl dealing with confessing to a girl for the first time)
  • Lonely Wolf, Lonely Sheep- Mizutani Fuka (two women with the same name meet. Warnings for self harm)
  • Cirque Arachne: Saida Nika (Two women working in the circus in a trapeze act. Stellar cute.)
  • Maple Love- Otsu Hiyori (meeting in college; really cute)

Two that I recommend but are set apart from the others because one is written by a man and one is written with the male audience in mind respectively

This is by no means an exhaustive list and I know there’s more (one particularly that I wanted to put on here but couldn’t remember the title of) so feel free to add on your favorite adult queer lady manga to the list!

Okay, decided to whip this up because of the following reasons:

1) I get this question a lot. Apparently there are a ton of folks out there that are really new to paypal and while I don’t mind helping, having a good reference page for folks that shows you exactly what to do will cut down the time I spend explaining it.

2) I’ve had two flags on my account in the past year because no one check the “No Shipping Required” box. So Paypal comes to me and says “Hey you didn’t ship our their thing!!!” but I do digital commissions…there’s nothing to ship! So this step is really important!

3) I often have to give out my Paypal email over and over for this and I figured having it in one spot might help!

There will be a new page on my blog with these images and I’ll try to keep them up to date if Paypal happens to change their format! Hope this helps you guys!

(Interested in commissioning me? Check out this page here!)
