Doesn’t matter what strain. Doesn’t matter if it’s high grade medical.
If you support weed for health then you need to support that is also not okay for every single human being.
For some of us it aggravates our issues.

(I’d really love to see some support on this from weed blogs, because that’s who I’m aiming at who usually refuse to accept this fact)

For real! And it may not happen every time! I had a severe panic attack the other night while smoking from a bag I’d had for some time and had no negative affects on before. It’s so important to recognize that the chemical affects on the brain can be harmful for some!

This is important! If you’re planning on smoking for the first time, I recommend doing it around people you trust and in a safe, comfortable place in case you do have a bad reaction. And just know that you aren’t “broken” if you dislike being high or find that you react badly to it. Never let anyone shame you for not smoking. And if they do, they aren’t your friends. Your own health comes first

Samson Positive Weekend Fundraiser

Thankfully, lyrium is a fictional drug. Thankfully, we don’t need to watch people suffer from lyrium addiction or withdrawal.

Having said that, there are plenty of us who are currently in recovery, fighting to stay in recovery, fighting to get into recovery, supporting family or friends through real-life substance abuse and recovery, and grieving for those who’ve lost the fight with substance abuse.

During Samson Positivity Weekend, I want to take some of the online positivity we’ll be generating and turn it into real-life positivity for a group of people that Raleigh Samson would be able to identify with. The Templars in Dragon Age don’t have the benefit of rehab centers, but addicts in our world do.

For every new, original post that appears in the #samsonpositive tag on June 13th and 14th, I’ll donate $5USD to a local substance abuse rehab center (up to $300USD total).

I’ll be tracking the #samsonpositive tag and reblogging entries that contribute to the fundraiser with “#$5″ and the current amount we’ve raised as of that post. Once the weekend is over and the tally is counted, I’ll make the donation.

I won’t be counting re-blogs of older content. I’m only counting new content. It can be fanfic, meta, poetry, art, sketches, songs, spoken word, image edits, headcanon, gifs, videos, screenshots; anything that you put time and effort into about Raleigh Samson for #samsonpositive Weekend.

“Positive” weekend doesn’t necessarily mean “happy” or “fluffy” to me, it can be anything that contributes to an appreciation of the character. It can be sad, it can be angry, it can be purely analytical. I don’t shy away from character critique and analysis - he has flaws and they can all be explored without devolving into shitting on his character.

I can’t wait to see what y’all come up with for Samson Positivity Weekend on June 13th and 14th!

I shouldn’t need to say this, but I will anyway: I will not be counting content that sexualizes or fetishizes addiction or addicts.

I’ve already spoken with raleighsamsonsdick (bless ur new username) and cleared the idea with them before announcing this fundraiser.

The legalization of marijuana is spreading across America, gaining supporters to allow the legal use of marijuana for medical purposes. Florida is one of the states that has joined the trend to allow some nurseries to grow marijuana, but black farmers and nurseries have been left out. Why?

How legal constraints are shutting out black farmers

Low-THC marijuana has been known to help patients who suffer from cancer, seizures, and muscle spasms. Many states like Florida are allowing nurseries to grow and distribute it, but under very tight constraints. For example, in order to get a license to grow and distribute marijuana in Florida, nurseries must have been in business for 30 years. The problem is that black farmers and nurseries were virtually non-existent 30 years ago.

In addition, it is expensive to get a license to enter the business of growing marijuana. It can cost thousands of dollars, and this can be a huge roadblock for many black entrepreneurs and others who want a piece of the pie. The pie represents what the Florida state Department of Revenue projects medical marijuana businesses could make – $5.6 billion in annual sales.

The battle continues…

It was only last year that Florida Governor Rick Scott ® signed the Compassionate Medical Cannabis Act, legalizing marijuana in the state for medical purposes. Since that time, black farmers have been working hard to get the governor to ease up on regulations that are preventing them from entering the industry. Black farmers, with the support of the Florida Black Farmers and Agriculturists Association, aren’t giving up but continuing their fight for equality in the medical marijuana industry.

Happy 420! Let’s take the time to remember the black Americans jailed for marijuana use/distribution far more than white Americans despite the usage rates being about the same. Look at how steady those arrest rates are for white people while the black arrest rate climbed steadily.

oh yea: the dental surgeon informed me that if u smoke weed regularly u should always tell the anaesthesiologist before ur surgery, because it’s possible that u could wake up during surgery due to them giving u the dosage they would give someone who doesn’t smoke weed. 

so don’t lie, they aren’t cops, they just want to make sure ur good for the duration of the surgery. i didn’t know this for my colonoscopy but i wasn’t smoking regularly then so it wasn’t relevant. just a psa

why does our society think drug addicts deserve to be treated as less than human, that they don’t deserve food, housing or medical care? as if every addict is a truly evil person down to their core. newsflash: addiction can happen to you and anyone you know. your parents, your best friend, your coworker your teacher, your own kid. anyone. so i really need all the self-righteous, holier-than-thou bullshit to stop.
