tbh asexual/aromantic representation is super fucking important because i didnt know what aromantacy was until about six months ago and im 18, almost 19 years old. i thought something was so fucking wrong with me. i forced myself into romantic relationships and lied to the people i cared about just to try and fix myself and ended up hurting them and ruining a lot of friendships in the process. if you dont think ace/aro representation is important then i dont have time for you.
Spreading the awereness of aromanticism is important.
However making posts about platonic love and relationships and putting an asexual flag on it or tagging it as asexual is not helping. Asexuality and aromanticism are different concepts even though our communities might have close relations and aromantic asexuals exist.
Asexuality is not about romantic attraction likewise aromanticism isn’t about sexual attraction.
This is especially important for allosexual aromantics and alloromantic asexuals.
people who say ”romantic love is what makes you human!!!!” are actually right. aromantic people are, in fact, gods in disguise, traveling in the human world to observe and study the humans and their weakpoints, in order to eventually eliminate them all and take over their world
alloromantic people need to stop pretending romo relationships are the most important type of relationship and that being romantically attracted to people is what makes u a person
yknow who needs some support? aromantic people.we grow up in a society where we’re taught that being in love is the best thing in the world and falling in love and getting married and having kids is literally the only thing you should want in life. and for aromantic people, or anyone on the aromantic spectrum, that’s just really, really shitty.

I think relationships in general are over romanticized like at the end of the day I’m pretty sure a good relationship is just two people who know how to hang out and talk to each other not whether or not they can right all your wrongs or paint a picture of a thousand suns with the breath from your lungs or some shit
