I was literally yesterday thinki ng about the sand kids when they were small and thats s THATS SOOO exactly how I imaginend it kankuro would only be comforted by temari sometimes temari would sneak into gaaras room a little bit after he was born before they would get seriously in trouble for going near him and just like look in his crib. he's so small, she's worried. shes ready though she knows exACTLY how to take care of little brothers she's a pro at this she gets so mad when they dont let her
temari acts out she’s like nearly five she’s a big girl she throws the biggest temper tantrums and only yashamaru can calm her down saying he’ll make sure nothing bad ever comes to gaara but it’s not enough she wants to see him she wants to hold him why are you taking him away she just lost her mom
kankuro’s two and he cries he doesn’t understand yet that the tiny thing no one will let him see is his brother he doesn’t understand why his sister wont stop shouting and throwing things he hasn’t seen his mother in a month where is she
when they were younger temari would sit kankuro down and pet his hair and describe their mother’s face and her laugh and how he used to cry as a baby when anyone besides her picked him up
eventually they grow out of it but one time gaara laughs and it’s a tiny behind the back of their hand thing but that’s exactly what karura did when temari waddled out of her room hair bunched up in a million half-done tangled pig tails and it’s the sound kankuro can remember ringing in the back of his mind and it’s stinging his eyes
and they’re both so choked up with nostalgia they don’t manage to speak for the next few minutes
later after, temari tells her brothers everything she can remember about karura and gaara can’t stop smiling and he can’t stop crying either

rock lee and tenten LOVE roller coasters but neji hates them, he is always making excuses to not go on them like “i just ate,” “i forgot a hair tie today,” “well SOMEONE has to watch all of our bags” (he is the only one that brought a bag & it’s a very small backpack).
they only stop trying to convince him after they get him on that swinging boat ride and all the color just drains from his face when it drops. tenten swears she can hear him gritting his teeth and lee is 100% certain the blood flow to his hand has completely stopped b/c of how hard neji is gripping his wrist
