okay so there is a very specific reason why i am saying this but i think it needs to be said:
when people come out as a non-binary identity DO NOT try to tell them they are cis or faking it, bc a lot of times non-binary genders are a bit confusing and it may take some time and experimenting to find what fits the way you are and how you feel and a big concern with people who haven’t found the right identity yet is “am i really cis? but that doesn’t fit, but neither does this??” and then face a lot of self-doubt and fear about exploring their genders.
if someone is exploring non-binary identities, be supportive and if you are non-binary, talk about how you came to your gender and found the right terms and your experiences. be kind and supportive to new members of the community, don’t just accuse them of being a cis faker because they don’t know the terms or are unsure about aspects of their identity still. basically, don’t be a buttwipe, folks.
