jsyk the creators of urbance have posted on their facebook about the recent criticisms about the plotline and concept and they have displayed a willingness to fix mistakes and take fan critique into account.

you really should not boycott this project based on limited information given in the summary, when it is doing a lot of good things for representation in other areas and the creators seem more than happy to look at the flaws the concept does have and fix them.

This is probably the only Urbance thing that I’m gonna reblog for obvious reasons, but i think it’s the most important. I think my post garned up a lot of anti-urbance sentiment which is… really shitty and makes me regret posting it in the first place. It’s important to be critical yes, but I think it’s important for projects like this to succeed. The fact that the creators are listening to complaints is amazing and I have so much respect for them because it’s a tough call to make. Nothing is perfect, and trying to hold Urbance to a perfect standard is unfair. I don’t regret being critical, but I do regret if i have contributed to harming Urbance’s support on here.

typically with projects like these there is a LOT of good intent and desire to make quality content that appeals to as many people as possible, but there’s always a chance of lack of consideration. the good thing about kickstarters is that they are practically built with communication in mind, so it’s good to see them utilizing this.

i LOVE the concepts for Urbance, and i want more projects to be this cool and awesome with female characters that i fall for before i even see the final product, and it makes me happy that they’re confronting the early criticism so early.
