Actually, the main reason that anime took off in japan was because Japanese story writers wanted to do live action with European actors/set locations, and saw animation as an easier route to do so. Astro Boy is a great example of this; European characters with Japanese names/usage of the Japanese language. If an anime character looks white, they ARE white. Their name/language means nothing, it's an animation choice.
i kind of doubt thats true for all anime though? its also hard to say at anime character looks white when they’re all drawn pretty similarly, and from what ive noticed from modern anime if a character is white theyll not only have european features but they’ll have western names too, its……. pretty obvious
