the need for shelter in the san francisco bay area has been much more significant than the number of people offering shelter on this page. if you are in san francisco or the bay area please, please submit “have couch” posts if you can, thank you
this is so important. we regularly receive submissions on trans housing network from people, usually trans women, in the bay area who are in extremely dire situations. the bay area has a massive issue with LGBT homelessness and its something that affects trans spectrum persons disproportionately, especially trans women.
however, we very rarely receive any “have couch” submissions from that area and its very common for posts from persons needing shelter in the bay area to go unanswered even when we aggressively promote them, despite that area’s reputation as ‘Queer’/LGBT friendly. this pride day, do something that actually matters and offer help to a transgender person on the streets.
