I read the link you sent. It reminds me of the attempts at language change referenced by Lakoff--the removal of prefixes such as "Miss" or "Mrs." under the premise that the terms depower or discount women. Those campaigns failed. Considering that the author of that blog entry is making a similarly structured argument with "bromance/brotp" in regards to queer relationships, I suspect the outcome will be the same.
just because an attempt at removing/changing a term fails doesnt mean it was never problematic in the first place
