japanese made easy, with mol

in nippongo (japanese), when you want to say something is around a certain time, you say the time and then “goro.” for example, ima wa ichi ji han goro desu. it’s about 1:30 right now. the kanji for “goro” is as follows: 頃. it might not look like much to the casual observer or non-speaker, but if you take a close look, the shapes it’s put together from look like a beetle flipping someone off. the beetle doesn’t know what time it is, and it’s pissed that you asked. it’s about 1:30. more or less. you made the mistake of asking this beetle on his day off. this beetle doesn’t owe you shit
thus ends japanese made easy. with mol. ganbatte kudasai. do your best
