• i dont care if it doesnt make sense i want gintoki to be the slacker art teacher bc, like, think about it, what is the ultimate high school blow-off class?????? its art!!!!!! i would know bc i am still so salty about it
• unsolved mysteries: did gintoki get an art degree so he could “teach” high school art?????? is he good at art???? did he bullshit his way through college? ?? ? did he fake his degree ala community
• i figure he has a passing interest in it and just got the degree bc, what the hell, and then realized he didnt know what to do with it besides teaching, so here he is, at a shitty high school full of shitty teens teaching something hes only vaguely into
• most of the time hes like this close to just ripping pages out of a coloring book and passing them around
• like, okay, i think ginpachi presents femme, and so basically i think every au gintoki presents femme, thats just the way it is buddy
• and so he shows up to class in a colorstained v-neck tee looking like he raided a claire’s entire barrette and clips section, some of them are sparkly and there are BOWS
• i think the school only hired him bc he looks like an art teacher/major stereotype
• theyre kind of disappointed hes not, like, the complete stereotype, and their world is shattered when he jams a finger up his nose and then EXAMINES it before wiping it on the nice chair hes sitting on (but it is too late by that point. hes hired.)
• he comes to class sometimes in a weird homemade skirt, like, its a SMOCK, asshole!!!!!!
• the rumor/fact that hes banged most of the single teachers in the school still stands
• like, his class is basically a joke and he knows it, most of the time the kids just do what the fuck ever short of leaving, sometimes he just sits and talks with everyone, sometimes he lets the kids paint his nails, bc whatever, its an art project!! go wild (free manicure)
• or he goes up to the ones that are napping bc hes bored and just keeps putting clips and barrettes in their hair and keeps count how many it takes before they wake up (he used to draw on them but the pta put a stop to that)
• i guess hes DECENT at drawing?? hes still a complete animanga nerd so his style is very influenced by that, hes just not very interested in making “pieces” and “works” or getting stuff in a gallery
• he draws his students sometimes in little comic strips or adapts things that happen in class into a short illustrated story or comic, and the kids are into it enough that some of them contribute, and hes like ok whatever gets left in the classroom by the end of the year goes in the dumpster, but he keeps a lot of it bc hes a nerd
• and he shows that shit to admin like, see!!! i do so teach things!!!!!! look at these masterpieces!! and they squint at it like, wtf are these
• so its not surprising that during evaluation hes consistently among the higher rated teachers bc he basically makes them do jack shit
