Desiree Akhavan is the creative force behind the film Appropriate Behavior. I’m really excited for this movie for a bunch of reasons most of all it’s a female directed, female led romcom about an Iranian Bisexual.
To say you don’t come across a movie like this every day is a gross understatement.

Everyone needs to see this. Desiree is a dear friend of mine and old college roommate. She’s amazingly talented, hilarious, and stupid smart. Her webseries The Slope, was the actual best.
So yes everyone watch this trailer and support the film (it’s getting a limited release in major cities starting this weekend, I believe). Not just because its important to support queer woc in an industry that is heavily dominated by the voices of white cisdudes, but because Desi is a badass and a great filmmaker and everyone loves strap-on jokes.
