posts about how it's stupid if cuddling and watching netflix is what you want most out of a relationship really bother me because I'm asexual. The kind of intimacy described in those posts is what I really, genuinely want. I'd get more out that stuff than I ever would out of sex. Seeing those posts reminds me of what I'm supposed to want versus what I actually want, and of all the ways I'm incomplete, and how I somehow failed to become the kind of person who can have an adult relationship.

Dude! That’s exactly it! That comfy intimacy is one of the most important things in any relationship, sexual or romantic or otherwise, and to see it kind of… stepped on is bothersome to me as well. The fact that people are CONSTANTLY reminded of sex sex sex sex is hurtful to pretty much everyone and also the concept of an “adult” relationship is bad. Like, there’s a difference when someone talks about a “mature” relationship and an “ADULT” relationship and it lies in the kind of weird shaming language that you’re talking about
