Just fyi! “Hijra” is a slur for trans ppl commonly used in India and Pakistan because Indians or Pakistanis generally don’t have a problem with being offensive !

Hijra is a term used in India to refer to the third gender, a concept that doesn’t exist in the mainstream Western world. Some people may use hijra as an insult but it is not in itself a slur. Hijras in India often refer to themselves as trans simply because of the language barrier as no western equivalent exists. 

These Indians are not oppressing themselves just because they happen to refer to themselves using an Indian word in lieu of a non-existant English one. 

PLUS Hijra is an official third gender in Bangladesh

It is literally a word that has allowed people to get a specific set of rights and acknowledgement by their government and official representation and citizens
