• 2 kinds: inherent and practical
• a lot of people can do natural magic (like they have inherent magical ability and they use it w/o meaning to most of the time, not a lot of ppl can control it tho) (example: stuart is a v defensive person so when hes really provoked he can make a shield around himself/others)
• a small amount of people can do practical magic (like creating complicated spells and drawing spell circles) bc its a learned skill and u have to understand properties about the universe that doesnt come naturally to you. it involves a lot of reading and studying and practicing
