i don’t know how many british followers i have but fyi the police are still kettling about 200 protesters from the blm march in london atm (it’s 1am now, about 6 hours i think with no food, water, access to toilets etc)

the kettle is now so tight there’s absolutely no way to social distance, police have batons and at the moment seem to have turned off most of their body cams (?), are asking for id + name, dob, address and a photo as conditions of being released from the kettle, which to my understanding is not legal

crowd is almost entirely comprised of minors but there are some adults and some legal observers

can’t see any reports of this on the news that aren’t blatantly biased/false/full of racist dogwhistles so

Tommye Austin has created a new better mask!

The name N95 comes from the fact the masks filter 95% of airborne particles, such as viruses. Lab results show Tommye’s masks block 96.5%.

N95s weren’t intended for all-day use, so they tend to carve painful, unsightly marks into noses, cheeks and chins. Hers don’t.

With nowhere for exhaled carbon dioxide to escape, N95 wearers sometimes suffer dizziness or headaches. Hers have an air pocket so the C02 floats more easily away

If you have asthma, do not go protesting. Tear gas can be lethal to people with asthma because not only is the powder it's made of toxic and causes burns, but for us it triggers painful and severe asthma attacks that can lead to death. I did not know this going into the protest and later read about protestors with asthma who died after getting hit with tear gas. I'm lucky to be alive. Please share this and take care of yourselves.

Like please share this I don't want this happening to ANYONE.

this is such an egregious example of how th media uses neutral passive language to describe the police’s murder attempts actions while using the most active, violent language possible to describe anything the protesters do

justin howell was “badly hurt by a beanbag round”. where’d it come from? it just dropped from the sky? the beanbag round just got up and walked over to justin howell and “badly hurt” him all on its own?
meanwhile, the protesters HURLED !!!! a water bottle!!! at the police !!! the VIOLENCE! the FORCE !!!

curseworm

by saying he was “badly hurt” and declining to say by whom, and then immediately progressing to a description of a forceful action by another person, they have effectively created a sentence that implies the person next to him is to blame for justin howell being “badly hurt”

“Since I’ve had to be without your sweetest presence, I have not wished to hear or see any other human being, but as the turtle-dove, having lost its mate, perches forever on its little dried up branch, so I lament endlessly till I shall enjoy your trust again. I look about and do not find my lover — she does not comfort me even with a single word.

Indeed when I reflect on the loveliness of your most joyful speech and aspect, I am utterly depressed, for I find nothing now that I could compare with your love, sweet beyond honey and honeycomb, compared with which the brightness of gold and silver is tarnished. What more?”
