1) it groups Latinxs together with spaniards. I’ve heard on many accounts that many spaniards dislike Latinxs and think that they did us a ” favor” by colonizing us. We’re different from spaniards and many of us don’t want to be grouped with our colonizers.
2) it excludes latinxs who dont speak spanish at all or spanish as their native language like brazilians! Hispanic refers to people who are from Spanish speaking countries/speak Spanish as their native language.
