y’all and all your weak ass shipping. back in the day when i was young there was livejournal and people frickin capping every single panel of their otp being together and writing analysis of it. not a LINE went unnoticed. it was called ship manifesto and goddam did i participate in this. my thirsty shipper ass was fuckin gobbling it down like it was potato CHIPS. it needs to come back. we all need to let go and admit our thirst. let go of your shame and boundaries and accept that you’re a thirsty ass trash that has dokis over two fictional people standing next to each other.

Pam Oliver, a professor in the UW-Madison sociology department, explaining the historical roots of racism in the United States to her undergraduate students (mostly middle-class and White).  I try to use this when I teach race now, too, to get past the defensive “but why are you BLAMING ME” reaction.
