man!!! i tried to watch deathnote and got like 8 episodes in and was like ‘i don’t get the hype?????’ i thought i was really gonna like it too?? but nope.
the main character is a self-centered tool and the narrative jerks off to his assholery every chance it gets and i cant stand it

MUSHISHI!!! its a very calm monster of the week type thing, you can pace yourself however you want since theres no overarching plot, but this isnt a great explanation of it. for me its very spiritual and kind of an affirmation of my place in the universe and just. its very satisfying. its kind of creepy but not overly so, like how nature can be creepy sometimes but not scary. its also gorgeous, the anime and the manga, i LOVE the art style in the manga and i need to touch it with my flesh and blood hands.
(there is some mild to extreme body horror though, in case you arent really into that)
