DORAEMON MEETS ‘AKIRA’ IN DISTURBING 2020 TOKYO OLYMPICS ANIMATION
The city of Tokyo won its bid to host the 2020 Olympics this past fall, leading many people, this site included, to draw the parallel between reality and the post-apocalyptic manga and anime feature film Akira, which took place in the run-up to the 2020 Olympic Games in Neo-Tokyo.
The organizers real-life Games in Tokyo have turned to another manga/anime, Doraemon, to help promote the Olympics. The famous robot cat is an ambassador for the 2020 Games. With that in mind, animator Aleix Pitarch has combined Akira, Doraemon and the Olympics in a tribute video. It’s…harrowing.
Well if you squint a bit, I’m double.

Top 10 Things About Gintama → #10 The Meaning of a Main Character
"You’re absolutely right. I can’t do anything alone. Everyone here has their flaws and imperfections. But that’s what drives us to work together to make up for those flaws. Together, we make the perfect main character."
Gintama is one of the few shows out there that really acknowledges how important the entire cast is. While Gintoki may be the obvious main protagonist, he isn’t the main character. Without each of his friends, Gintoki is nothing—and he knows it. He fights for his friends and makes sacrifices and so much more and that’s why he’s the perfect protagonist, but no matter what he does individually, he’ll never be a good main character. After all, Gintama isn’t a show just about Gintoki and his journey to collect the Dragon Balls or whatever, it’s a show about dozens of people just, you know, living. When they all come together, though, they make a truly perfect main character.

Why is it that in those weird acceptance or whatever comics that straight people make lesbians are always drawn with that half shaved head and it dyed some strange colour

The Gintama crossovers from this week’s Jump.
Sorachi chose One Piece while Fujimaki Tadatoshi (KnB) and Komi Naoshi (Nisekoi) both chose Gintama.

I like when photoblogs post pictures of waterfalls or something all week then make one read more and go back to pictures. It’s like a dj stopping the music to whisper “I’m sad” into the mic then dropping the hot hits of the 80s.
