Do you use any cleaners with microbeads? You know, ones like this:

Microbeads are also in other lotions, sunscreens, and even toothpaste.

Did you ever think about how many microbeads are in one bottle of things like this? There’s a lot.

Why is that bad? Because these little microbeads are made of plastic, and they’re of a size designed to go right down your drain. Where do they end up?

Well, of course — they end up in the oceans, eventually. And they look just like fish eggs to animals, who eat them and eventually die.

There is a push to ban them, and measures are being debated in New York state and a few others. Johnson and Johnson and a few other manufacturers have promised to “phase out” use of microbeads — but they’ve set up a multi-year time frame for this and that’s way too long for me. And as the soaps are phased out, you can be sure that you’re going to see a lot of them on sale or even clearance and it’s going to be really tempting to buy them. Don’t.

If you like scrubs, you can use scrubs with natural exfoliants, for example, walnut shells/sugar/salt (I’m not a dermatologist, and some people say that some of those aren’t good for your skin, so maybe do some research on that.).

I’m not sure what we can do with those soaps we already own, but for now, don’t buy any more. And be sure to tell your friends.

Manga Studio 5 is like a mix of Painter, SAI, and Photoshop. It’s my favorite app to make art in and, at that price, there’s no reason not to try it too.

The brushes I make for Manga Studio are leaps and bounds above what you can create in Photoshop. And it handles lineart AND realistic color mixing better than Photoshop. Seriously.

No really go buy this program. If you’re in super need of a professional art program with more capabilities than SAI (like bigger canvas sizes) and is a SERIOUS competitor to Photoshop on multiple levels, then pick this up.

If you like SAI, you’ll love this. If you’re into Painter, ArtRage, anything like that, you’ll love this. If you want to give the middle finger to Adobe for continuing to neglect and exploit the art community, /you will LOVE this/

hey fellow trans teens living in an unsafe environment, theres a handy chrome app which allows you to password protect your browser. This is really really useful if your parents keep snooping through your stuff!!!

NONONO this extension is COMPLETELY USELESS! It does NOT do what it says. If ANY password is put in, there are ways to bypass needing the right one! On a Mac, all it took was entering the wrong password and clicking Chrome again—since Chrome was no longer “starting up”, it did not ask for the password again and I could access everything freely. People have reported similar things on PC! THIS EXTENSION WILL NOT PROTECT YOUR BROWSING HISTORY OR ANYTHING.
