"Florida Man, Scully. It’s all right here," Mulder slaps a stack of newspapers with his knuckles. He leans over her where she sits and looks at her seriously.
"Mulder, you can’t be serious. This is clearly just a series of similar incidents. The only thing they have in common is they’re all based in Florida."
Mulder shakes his head, snorting. “You mean to tell me that there are multiple men in Florida performing the same bizarre crimes? That the man who tried to rob the brother’s CVS with a water nozzle is a different person from the one who killed their husband with a squirrel?”
She looks at him incredulously. “Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying.”
"Why don’t you believe, Scully? Why can’t you believe for once that maybe — just maybe — the unexplained and fantastical has a place in our criminal investigations."
"I think you want to believe so badly that no state can be as terrifying as Florida that you’ve constructed this omnipresent figure to assuage your anxieties."
He shakes his head once more, arms akimbo. “I’m telling you, Scully. There’s something strange about this case and we’re going to figure it out.”
[Marissa] Alexander, 33, fired a warning shot after being violently confronted by her husband. She was released on bond last [and put under very restrictive house arrest] last year after an appeals court ruled that the jury in her trial was given flawed instructions. However, Florida State Attorney Angela Corey has gone after Alexander again, and she is seeking up to 60 years in prison in the re-trial, 20 years consecutively for each count. If Alexander were to receive that sentence, she could stay in prison until she is 93.In case you haven’t heard, Marissa Alexander’s trial was pushed to begin Dec 8th (jury selection to begin on Dec 1st). There is another hearing scheduled for August 1st when the judge is expected to decide whether or not Marissa will get another Stand Your Ground hearing.

This is one of the most heart stopping videos I have ever seen, and felt the need to share this onto my blog. Terry Tufferson jumped off a cliff (The Manly Jump Rock as it is known) in Sydney Harbour, Australia, and landed right next to a great white shark! All filmed while he wore a GoPro.
It’s fake - that same underwater footage is a couple of years old, at least.

ah dang
It’s weird that pirates would go from shore to shore looking for buried treasure when the real treasure was in the friendships they were making
Alligators bellow in infrasound to attract mates and declare territory. The sound causes a sprinkling of waves around their backs, called a “water dance.”
And now we know where the makers of Jurassic Park got their T-Rex sounds.
During thunderstorms at my previous zoo, our large male would mistake the thunder as a rival male, and start to bellow. It would shake the whole zoo. Super cool!

Johnny B. Goode is a 1958 rock and roll song written and originally performed by Chuck Berry. The song was a major hit among both black and white audiences. It’s one of Berry’s most famous recordings, has been covered by many artists, and has received several honors and accolades. It is also considered to be one of the most recognizable songs in music history. The song is about a poor country boy who plays a guitar ”just like ringing a bell,” and who might one day have his “name in lights.” Berry has acknowledged that the music is partly autobiographical, and originally had “colored boy” in the lyrics, but he changed it to “country boy” to ensure radio play. It’s number 7 at the Rolling Stone’s list “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”. x
