Let me be clear: Unarmed college hopefuls don’t deserve to be shot. Unarmed kids heading to work or trade school don’t deserve to be shot. Unarmed kids floundering aimlessly through life don’t deserve to be shot. Unarmed kids who have been in trouble—even those who have been nothing but trouble—don’t deserve to be shot.

The act of pinning the tragedy of a dead black teen to his potential future success, to his respectability, to his “good”-ness, is done with all the best intentions. But if you read between the lines, aren’t we really saying that had he not been on his way to college, there’d be less to mourn?

That’s dead wrong.

No, I’m taking this message all for myself — all of the Beauty Energy that would go to the other ten people goes directly to me. I can feel my features being airbrushed as I type this, becoming more striking, my skin smoother. I’m better, cuter, stronger with each passing moment. And this isn’t even my final transformation, nor is it my first. You innocent children, you beautiful, kind naive souls, you keep sending me these chain messages and I keep hoarding them. I’ve been hoarding them for years, since before you were born. I will be the prettiest boy you’ve ever seen and you’re only making me stronger

since I’m 18 now I had to call the hospital myself to get test results and I was simply planning on saying that I had a blood test last week and if I could get the results back but when the woman answered I said “I want my blood back” and hung up the phone, so I’m never trying that again
