also though now that i’m mostly caught up and feel a little more solid on the symbolism behind the show—
we see the naruto/sasuke:: sun/ moon :: jiraya/orochimaru relationship mentioned a lot in the fandom and the show itself; but why does nobody mention the third piece of the trifecta (actually just kidding its because theyre female characters, ANYWAY)
tsunade/sakura represent the earth, the third piece of the celestial trifecta— it is slow to change and takes much longer to mature, but it is steady, strong, and healing. it is more stable than the fickle moon, less volatile than the burning sun; as a mediator and intermediary it is the place where life thrives
