thats one way of putting it,
reasons you need to stop bragging about your “perfect grammar and spelling”
-it’s ableist
-it’s annoying
-it’s probably nowhere close to perfect, not even by your standards
-you sound like a fucking brat
-language evolves; or, as my favorite linguistics professor used to say, in his deep russian monotone: “language is alive”
-sherman alexie: “grammar cops are rarely good writers. imagination always disobeys.”
-like i can’t even tell you how true that is
-errors do not necessarily suggest a lack of understanding
-the belief that “perfect grammar” is a real thing rests on the assumption that there are certain ways of writing and speaking that are fundamentally incorrect…
-and ultimately, racism and classism are the primary determiners of what’s considered “correct”
-there are so many other things to take pride in—why settle for being an elitist piece of shit?
it’s important to realize that any narrative that portrays heterosexuality as endangered in any context is homophobic by nature because it prioritizes a completely metaphorical situation over what actual gay people face everyday
and by making a heterosexual romance the main plot, in a context where it is forbidden, even if every single character isn’t straight, it is making sure the narrative knows that the heterosexual romance is the most important, the most real, and the most genuine
now add this in with a premise that assumes sex=gender and that outlawing only heterosexual sex causes a rift between 2 genders and casts the only androgynous/ambiguously gendered characters as the villains
and yes, you get a plot that is entirely transphobic and homophobic and i’m so sorry you consider this to be “tumblr complaining” when the erasure and invalidation of our identities is a very real issue especially when so many people are uncritical of this

This is it. This is what I became an adult for. To be able to go down to the grocery store, buy a box of fruit by the foot and a box of gushers and make this and not have anyone tell me I can’t.
I’ve been seeing a lot of Scooby Doo on my dash lately. My friend discovered what he describes as “Shaggy eviscerating an ape”
whats hilarious to me is that the animator paid so much attention to things that dont matter (where the ape particles are going, ect) and so little attention to things that do (the head and arms and platform of the ape float themselves offscreen? shaggy is moving like hes underwater?? THE APE DISINTEGRATES LIKE WET PAPIER MACHE??)
well if u look at the black and red lines you’ll see they both only exist in a single direction, so it’s like the 4th dimension one, except after each time segment, u can go either the black or red time direction (SORRY this stuff gets me excited)
hmm ok, i think its just that this visual is too abstract for me to really get it. also i havent had a real physics class in my life.
