in a perfect world kyuubei’s gender and gender changes wouldnt be the subject of transphobic jokes and tae might actually return some of kyuubei’s feelings for her and we could have a canonically non-hetero relationship which. would be great!!

but as it is kyuubei’s gender is confusing (to me) because, idk, are they canonically female or not?? but it doesnt matter bc tae continues to see kyuubei as a girl and not as anything more than a friend (even worse is that tae keeps trying to force feminine things on kyuubei despite the fact that they are visibly uncomfortable about it, and that kyuubei seems to be willing to bear all this bc theyre still in love with tae)

so i kind of ship kyuutae?? i wish i could wholeheartedly but mostly it just makes me sad

i like kyuubei!! but i really hated their intro arc (aside from the toilet episodes) it was really uncomfortable and so is/was every other joke made about kyuubei’s gender

and ftr i kind of hated the dekoboko arc too (but with that arc i can sometimes convince myself it was a means justifies the ends kind of thing even though its still……. shit………) except for the couple panels at the end where kyuubei basically announces they’re non binary. tbh im apprehensive of any joke sorachi makes about gq and trans characters
