i was arrested about a month ago for stealing $30 worth of food because me and my family couldn’t afford to eat.

my court date is in TWO DAYS and my lawyer JUST told me that i am required to pay my court costs the SAME DAY or i will go back to jail. regardless of whether or not i’m convicted….

i am disabled physically and mentally and they treated me horribly. they refused to give me my pain medicine, not even aleve. they refused my anxiety medicine despite me being autistic and extremely socially anxious and afraid of authority. they forced me to sleep on the top bunk with no ladder and a very painful ledge, and i literally couldn’t get out of bed. another inmate had to lift me out, and the guards threatened punishment if i couldn’t get out. i cannot eat gluten, large amounts of sodium, or dairy. they refused to accommodate my dietary needs and i became very ill.

i am also trans and they put me in solitary and would not allow me to read or anything. they only gave me one blanket, even though i have arthritis and the cold hurts me very badly. they verbally abused me,called me an “it”, and refused to use anything other than my legal name.

i cannot go back to jail. i am so scared.
please please help me. please.
even if you just have like $1 or a signal boost to spare.

please keep this trans, disabled, mentally ill, impoverished person out of a very harmful situation.

The real problem with people fussing over Pluto all the time is it represents the priorities of the public - preserving traditions rather than accepting facts. The pursuit of science is about building a sustainable catalog of truths, and there is no advantage in altering truths to appease nostalgia.
