no human being is “dyadic.” calling someone “dyadic” implies that there’s a strict sex binary, which is false. it’s the weirdest and more inaccurate term proposed for non-intersex people i’ve ever heard. i just use “non-intersex.” since white people dominate the intersex movement in the west, i can clearly see that the choice to call non-intersex people “dyadic” was a result of the imperialist/racist logic that is still rampant within the movement. calling people “dyadic” still adheres to the western ideology that people are “really male” or “really female.” it’s nasty as hale and one of the many reasons i’m completely alienated from most intersex activists lol.
"intersexism" or "intersexphobia" or "anti-intersex sentiment" are some alternatives. however, the term "dyadism" isn’t necessarily inaccurate. "dyadism" or "sex dyadism" are fine terms to use to describe the ideology behind intersex people’s oppression and gender/sex essentialism, but using the adjective "dyadic" to describe human beings is baaad news.
