1. execution. the enthusiasm in his voice feels earnest, which gives it an entirely different quality than if, say, this was on some low rent commercial where everyone involved obviously doesn’t know how to act and has this stilted sensation when they try to be excited. this man is honestly excited about guys being dudes. earnestness is funny in so many unique ways that i think a lot of people sometimes miss cuz they get wrapped up in exploring the comedic potential of irony and the like. earnestness can be very, very funny.

2. “guys being dudes” is a weird, incredible sentence. it makes you wonder what, exactly, the coach means. what are guys? what are dudes? why is guys being dudes so great that nothing’s better than it? we can bring a lot of assumptions into both the words “guys” and “dudes”, but the fact that the coach uses both of them, dudes to describe guys, makes it a fucking headscratcher. what is guys being dudes to this guy? “guys being guys” has a pretty regular history and we can generally assume what someone means, drawing all the way to shitty sitcoms like Home Improvement and before - but “guys being dudes” is weird. it’s slightly out of synch. it feels a little like something an alien trying to blend in might say. “what’s better than this? guys being dudes.”

and he’s so earnest about it. so very earnest.

as the end of the year gets closer, i know it’s really hard on some of my followers who don’t celebrate christmas or weren’t raised in households that do, being surrounded by a culture that completely obsesses over it. tumblr especially gets very celebratory & i know that can make a lot of people feel ostracized. that’s why it’s important for those who do get really excited to try and make sure the people around you are comfortable with your actions — tag your posts, don’t force the “holiday spirit” on anyone, and try to be sensitive to how other people are feeling and if you’re pushing their boundaries.

It’s sad that people like this actually exist. This expired jar of mayonnaise is giving other men advice on how to harass and assault Japanese women. This video made my blood boil. He should never be allowed in Japan again, along with all the guys who were laughing in the audience. Fucking pigs.

This white man is sexually assaulting Japanese women on these streets with such impunity that he’s teaching other white men how to do the same, and it’s so funny to him. This is so indicative of white male culture and also why I will never ever date one. 

So, what’s his name? Does anybody know? He should be banned from traveling, fired, and put into jail, now. That should have already happened. He should not be allowed to film himself assaulting these women, share it with the world, and come away laughing about it.
