"kishimoto is sexist for making sakura a housewife"
NO. you - the one saying this - are the sexist one here for assuming that sakura can’t make her own decisions and choose to be a mother and a wife. and assuming she immediately gave up all of her ninja duties to do so. have you seen the other ninja moms in the series??? KIBA’S MOM IS THE MOST BADASS OF ALL OF THEM AND SHE WAS A TEENAGED MOTHER FOR GOD’S SAKE
STOP EQUATING HAVING A FAMILY WITH BEING A WEAK WOMAN
You do realize that characters do not have the agency to make their own decisions correct? That they are, in fact characters of a fictional series? You do realize that this was written by a heterosexual man, who took not just Sakura, but Hinata, Temari, Ino, Karui - and made every single one of them married with children by age 25? Media does not exist in a vaccuum, and “assuming a character cannot make their own decisions” is assuming a fact.
Just adding my two cents in that as a visual medium it’s very important what we actually see a character doing. Sakura and all of the other female ninjas are shown fulfilling what is considered the stereotypical duty of women in our current society: to settle down, get married and have babies. We can assume what other things they’re doing with their time, but the images we are being given of the characters is a very, very, VERY common one in our entertainment culture. And it does change how you perceive a character. Especially a female one, when women are so often shoehorned into the role of housewife. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH BEING A HOUSEWIFE. Housewives are awesome and under appreciated. But they are visually common. Why is it that we always have to assume a women’s career or other achievements while being presented with her role in the home? Would it really have been that difficult to show Sakura at the hospital or at a medical office talking with her daughter? It doesn’t change who Sakura is but it shows her in an environment of her personal accomplishments outside of her relationship with Sasuke which really is a huge convoluted mess of assumptions to begin with.
if those spoilers are legit i’m kinda really upset for sakura only being shown as a housewife. not hokage or head medical ninja or in a position of social power and standing…but a housewife married to that one dude who hasn’t given a fuck about her for years, disregarded her, said he wasn’t interested romantically and tried to hurt and kill her multiple times?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
real naruto endgame:
I don’t understand why when an actor/actress plays a gay character they are constantly asked if they are actually gay. I don’t see anyone playing a seriel killer being asked if they are really a killer.

"Matt Damon, you voiced the character of Spirit in the film ‘Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron’, are you actually a horse?"
at least gintama will be there to distract me from this bs later
