• He was shot from behind, running away and fleeing like we see in the surveillance tape where he is running for his life
• The police originally claimed that he was swinging his sword and lunged at him before they begun shooting him. The police chief ruled the shooting justified. This is contrary to the evidence which indicates he was shot in the back
• They allowed a police chief to make this ruling outside of a court of law, the investigation was carried out by an “officer-involved shooting protocol team”
• The sword was bought from a gift shop and did not have a sharp edge, yet in the report they claim he swung it at them and they were afraid of getting sliced
• The two cops who shot him are both reinstated: Schauerhamer and Judson
• The area is 93% white, 0.5% black
• The questioning of the cops was delayed and they’ve now altered their story (that Hunt lunged at them and that is why he ultimately died)
• The shot that killed him, though, was the shot in the back that he received while fleeing. He was shot a total of 6 times. 

We are allowing police departments all over the country to get away with murder. They are held unaccountable for their murder. This is genocide. People are justifying this just like they justify Brown’s murder. Question everything. Don’t believe a word these genocidal police departments say all over the country. Attending the Indigenous people sunrise ceremony this year. Also known as Unthanksgiving Day on Alcatraz Island.

Ar Pier 33 dozens of people gather together in a tradition 4 decades in the making. On Nov. 20 1969 American Indians from all tribes claimed Alcatraz Island as their land. For almost two years the people could not be moved. They built homes, gathered as one nation, and took back the land of their ancestors according to Richard Oakes.

Now, 40 years later, the people gather together once again to honor the memory of those people and all that they stood for. Held on what some indigenous people call “Unthanksgiving Day”, the Sunrise Ceremony is an event held annually to commemorate the occupation in the late 60’s.

With traditional dancing, rituals, and prayers, the many tribes of Northern California do their part to celebrate their heritage. They stand against what they feel is the tyranny of people who they felt cheated them out of their land many years ago. The sounds of the Miwok singers and the calling out of the names of the original occupiers of Alcatraz, American Indians ushered in a new era of resistance.

Bob McCulloch pointed out a lot of inconsistencies in testimony yesterday.

There’s actually a lot you need to know about Bob McCulloch that tumblr hasn’t really been on top of.

• McCulloh’s father was a police officer who was killed on duty. He’s biased as all fucking hell. 
• 70,000 people signed a petition to try and get McCulloch out of this case. He’s been known to protect officers from murder cases, which isn’t that unusual since his father was one. Despite everyone wanting him off this case, he refused to step down. He fully intended to go in and do a shitty job to make sure Wilson does not get indicted. This was planned.
• He cherry-picked evidence specifically showing Wilson’s innocence while arguing against evidence from his own defense.
• McCulloh literally protects officers. A majority of his work has been getting police officers out of murder charges. He literally only became an attorney because he didn’t qualify to become a police officer. This wasn’t an issue of a lazy lawyer, this was methodically planned to make sure Mike Brown never got justice.
• If you’re denying that this wasn’t planned from the beginning, you aren’t listening hard enough.
