if you are ASEXUAL, you do not experience SEXUAL ATTRACTION.

if you are AROMANTIC, you do not experience ROMANTIC ATTRACTION.

if you are AROMATIC, you have a PLEASANT AND DISTINCTIVE SMELL.

And if you are AUTOMATIC, SYSTEMATIC, and HYDROMATIC, why then you’re GREASED LIGHTENINGGGGG

A giant helium balloon bearing the face of an ojisan (middle-aged man) appeared in the sky in Utsunomiya on Sunday, in an event organized by the Utsunomiya Museum of Art to bring artwork to the public outside museums.

The balloon measures 15 meters in diameter and features the face of a man who lives in the city. The man was selected from 218 applicants.

A bar has opened that doesn’t serve alcohol, and it’s surprisingly successful.

Brillig Dry Bar in Ann Arbor, Michigan doesn’t serve alcohol, but owner Nic Sims is counting on customers not caring.

She hasn’t had a drink in 20 years, and she wanted to create a space where people—including, but not limited to, recovering alcoholics—could gather to have fun and socialize without worrying about drinking. In other words, she wants Brillig Dry Bar to have “a bar-like convivial atmosphere, with snacks and drinks and conversation, without it being a bar,” she told MLive.com.

Sims runs the bar as a pop-up out of her husband’s coffee shop, Mighty Good Coffee. She serves interesting non-alcoholic drinks, like Brooklyn Egg Creams, Pomegranate-Rosemary Sodas, and Vegan Pumpkin Chillers, as well as snack plates with meats, cheeses, and cookies.

Though some detractors have accused Sims of being anti-alcohol, the bar’s opening night last Friday was packed. According to BuzzFeed, “Brillig’s first customers included former drinkers, pregnant women, Muslims, teenagers, and college kids.”

The next pop-up will be December 26.

Michelle Hendley stars in “Boy Meets Girl” a transgender blockbuster

Set in the south “Boy Meets Girl” demolishes gender barriers and stereotypes introducing uninitiated cisgender people to the realities of the transgender experience.

Hendle told Indie wire why she took the part:

"For me it seemed like the opportunity of a lifetime. A transgender woman playing the role of a transgender woman in a film that authentically represents the trans experience is nothing short of revolutionary for my community."

More than a year after the death of 30-year-old Ashley Sinclair, a man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for murdering her.

Sinclair, a trans woman, was found shot to death in April 2013 in a wooded area in Florida. Kentz Louis, age 23, is a reoffender who has previously served time in prison and now faces another 30 years.

“You took my child, but you didn’t break me. You can’t break me,” Angela Smith, the mother of Sinclair, told Louis according to The Orlando Sentinel. “I don’t hate you. You are somebody’s child. I will pray for you because somebody prayed for my child. But young man, if my heart could show… you would see a scar that will be there for ever and ever.”

In a final attempt to spare Louis punishment for the crime, his attorney called for a new trial claiming his client was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Despite the attorney’s claims, the judge was unwavering in his decision to sentence Louis.

The conviction and sentencing has brought new faith to the LGBT community of Orange County. Axavier Darnell Strick, the entertainment director for Parliament House, remembered Sinclair as an entertainer, who was as an integral part of the community.

“She was somebody who was important,” Strick told The Sentinel. “She was somebody who was valued, and she was my friend…You took someone away from this community, and it mattered.”

I’m thankful justice was served, though it won’t bring her back. Thinking of her loved ones during this emotionally taxing time.
