Someone took a candid photo of a fight in Ukranian Parliament that is as well-composed as the best renaissance art
From what I know: gunmen entered a kosher marketplace in France on Friday, the day before shabbat so it was busy, and started firing. 2 people were killed and 5 hostages who were women and children were taken hostage.
This all started about 3-4 hours ago but we are still in the dark as to how the hostages are.

me, an apostate,

I saw two more reposts and decided it was time

We demand that all criminal charges be dropped against Mr. Qingyou Li, a well-known and respected 64 year old monolingual Chinese man who is a retired calligraphy teacher. He has taught calligraphy to countless students and given many community service talks at the Flushing Library. Stricken with glaucoma, Mr. Li has lost most of his vision in his left eye.On December 14, 2014, Mr. Li was walking alone on a sidewalk in Flushing when he accidentally tripped over a dog’s leash, causing the dog to bark. Mr. Li attempted to apologize, but the young man with the dog began cursing at Mr. Li and an altercation ensued. Mr. Li claims the taller and bigger young man struck him in his left eye and continued to beat him, shoving him into a nearby fence and forcing him to his knees. As Mr. Li was trying to prevent injury to his good eye (the right eye), a young woman with the man bit Mr. Li’s hand. Mr. Li instinctively swung his hand back to keep the young woman away from him, but the young woman claims Mr. Li struck her in the face. Mr. Li asserts she then kicked him in his head and body, while the man continued to beat him. Both EMS and the police arrived, but neither provided Mr. Li with an interpreter. Mr. Li called his brother-in-law who is an American-born Caucasian, fluent in both English and Mandarin, to relay Mr. Li’s account of what transpired. However, the commanding officer refused to allow him to translate in full Mr. Li’s story. Despite Mr. Li’s account and the visible injuries to Mr. Li’s eyes, face, shoulder, leg, and hand, the commanding officer ordered Mr. Li to be arrested. At the precinct, Mr. Li was detained for two hours, during which time, no interpreter was provided and no explanation given as to why he was arrested. Charged with assault, Mr. Li was given a desk appearance ticket to appear in court on January 9, 2015.On December 16, 2014, Mr. Li went three times with an interpreter to Precinct 109 to bring a criminal complaint against the young man and woman which was his right to do, but each time he went he was told he could not file a complaint. It was only after the incident was reported to elected officials, that Mr. Li was finally allowed to to file a complaint on December 20, 2014. A grave injustice has been done to Mr. Li. We demand that all charges against Mr. Li be dropped immediately.

well not all the chapters/arcs have been animated and i dont think people are reacting to the manga in a ‘the story is shit’ kind of way (at least, not that ive seen) its more like a painful story arc right now hence all the screaming….. i think its worth it if youre into reading manga tbh, i really like how the humor translates in comic form

So, my mother has decided the best way to motivate and inspire someone on a depressive downswing is to kick me out of the house.
I will be homeless as of February 1st. My mother has promised to pay a year’s rent if I can find an apartment, but my credit is shit and I’m unemployed right now, so no one will take me.
I’m not asking for money. What I need is a place to stay and/or a job. I have a car, a Masters degree in Urban Planning, and retail experience. However, I also have $80,000 in student loans, major depression, and terrible job-hunting skills.
So, if anyone can help me with the housing or job situation, please drop me an ask. I’d prefer to be in the Philadelphia/central New Jersey area, but beggars can’t be choosers and anywhere will do.
Help me, Internet. It’s cold outside.
Luthe is a friend. Boosting this for her.
She’s a New Englander, so tips on things like good boards for finding affordable Philadelphia/NJ sublets or roommates would be handy. Also good/bad neighborhoods, etc.
"Film Music" is a Gorillaz song released as a b-side of Tomorrow Comes Today. This song is called "Film Music" because it was intended for Gorillaz’ "Charts of Darkness" documentary from 2001.
any state thats legalizing the sale of pot needs to release every single black person ever arrested for possession or trafficking and then expunge their criminal record
and this should be the preface to a necessary conversation on reparations paid out to the millions of black lives ruined for doing the same thing that’s now enriching whites in Colorado and Washington.
