Were harder than the actual spm papers, we finished at the end of march, still waiting on the results, but basically what the takeaway is from this HOLY SHIT THIS WAS LONG- anyway basically I’m tryna say at face level any other countries marking system seems easier to us, but if you actually try and understand it, bitch that shits confusing, i mean even I’m still confused by my countries education system. More so after trying to explain it in text…but yea

College earlier if you wanted. And since I failed 3 subjects I was very much interested in waiting for my actual SPM. Of course i had never failed a subject before in my life, and the first time i do i failed in 3 subjects, just my luck. And of course my dad kept rubbing it in my face, no matter how hard I worked for actual SPM he kept telling me I was a failure so that was fun, was a real good motivator for getting good spm results too, it’s a good thing that the trials

Is formatting to how you answer them. For addmaths, there’s a certain order of how to answer questions to ensure you get the most marks. And lemme tell you addmaths is the hardest subject to pass in my country. Anyway after a week back st school we went thru our trials. And we fucked up. I for one got 3 Fs, and you’d think, that’s not so bad, at least it’s not actual SPM, yeah well the thing is the spm trials are important because you would use those marks to apply for

To the new syllabus? WRONG!! We hadn’t had an exam in so long. Our last exams were fkin PT3, no exams at age 16, come back to school at the end lf the next year, after a week back they threw trial SPM at us. Noe bear in mind after pt3 we were learning new subjects. Biology chemistry physics addmaths, and that’s just for pure science stream. Subjects who’s exams we had never been exposed to before. No term exams nothing. No proper exposure to the format. Because yes there

You see we always have trial papers before a major exam. So we had trial UPSR, trial PT3, and trial SPM. But here’s the thing. Throughout the year we would still go thru the normal summative exams. First term, mid terms. We didn’t have that for SPM. like every other student all over the world when covid hit we were slacking off. We didn’t study much. And our SPM just like the year before got pushed forward. Which is fine right? At least they’re giving us time to get used

Make a fucking book report or we don’t get marks. Like your supposed to start with “the protagonist” not mention their name until the second sentence, and then when you give an example it’s back to the protagonist. like i said, it’s weird, but anyway even that was fine, but SPM was just a huge mess

Already available at their local bookshop. You see finding reference books for my batch is always hard because it takes a long time for publishers to put out a book that fits our new syllabus and format. Yay us! Anyway about PT3, the ever changing formats kept catching us off guard, formats fof things like malay essay question answering, this thing we have called komsas which is basically malay literature which is wll kinds of STUPID, we have to follow a certain way to

Hell, they never had one our entire lives. You see, my entire batch of 04 were basically lab rats, we were the new batch, the new syllabus. When not many from our batch got straight As for our UPSR exams using their ALWAYS CHANGING FORMAT, suddenly the next batch was full of straight As. Probably because they decided to make the exam papers easier (which they did), and because the grading system went back down, and there were reference books ( that we didn’t have)

Anyway the thing is our system isn’t fair either. you’d think having 3-4 exams a year is better, but it isn’t, they teach you one thing in class and a completely different thing comes out in the exam. When i was 12 I had to sit for UPSR, the major exam i mentioned. RIGHT after we sat for the last paper they changed the grading system and increased the amount of marks needed to get an A. For PT3, major exam at age 15, they never had a proper format for our exam papers.

In my country our grade goes A,B,C,D,E,G…G is for Gagal… which is fail in Malay, and we have the system of having 3-4 tests a year, and 3 major exams at age 12 to determine which high school you get to go to, age 15 to determine if you’ll be taking arts stream or science stream for ur 2 remaining years, and finally at age 17, last year of high school, it’s like the SATs, we call it SPM and as usual determines what college and course ur gonna pursue after that.continu
